Your new role:

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Enrolled Endorsed Nurse to join our residential team at Port Melbourne Hostel on a Casual Basis.  Bring your passion for well-being to our close-knit community, fostering a warm and supportive environment for our residents.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality care. Your roster will be determined by ad hoc opportunities to provide relief to the team at the Port Melbourne Hostel

 

Your responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Observing and reporting changes in resident’s behaviour or physical condition
  • Undertaking medication management and treatment procedures as directed by the Residential Site Manager or person in charge
  • Liaising with medical practitioners, pharmacists and other health services to provide relevant services for the care and wellbeing of the residents
  • Assisting the RN1 with clinical requirements of residents
  • Assisting in the implementation of cigarette and alcohol programs
  • Observing and reporting changes in residents behaviour or physical condition and maintain appropriate documentation as required
  • Providing emotional support to residents.

We are looking for candidates with the following:

  • Ability to work both in team and autonomously
  • Cert IV/Diploma of Nursing (with current AHPRA Registration)
  • Prior experience in housing & homelessness support, aged care, welfare, disability support, mental health or community/home care
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to enhance or maintain our residents’ independence and lifestyle
  • A friendly and non-judgmental attitude
